Progress Report: 20/07/2015 – 26/07/2015

Welcome to week thirty.

Fantasy Book 1

I did nothing on this book this week.

Fantasy Book 2

I’m back to working on this book now. Hurrah! I spent the first couple of days going through the story from the beginning and editing a little as I went along. I needed to remind myself of what had happened so far. That went fine. However, when it came to writing new stuff, I got a bit of a block. I knew where the story was going, but not how to get there. So, after struggling for a couple of hours, I gave it a rest and went back to it later, but not to write, just to plan out what would happen next. The following day I was able to write easily and it has been so since. I think the story was about 24K when I started and is now about 35K in total. I’ll continue to work on this story this week. If I can add another 10-15K, I’ll be pleased.

I think this is going to end up being a standalone book, rather than any kind of series, but I’m not going to decide that for certain until I get to the end of the story. I’m going to write it assuming it’s one story.

Other Projects

I wrote another very short story this week for a themed submission call, which has to be in by the end of this week. It’s pretty much done, but I’ll give it another couple of looks through before I submit it.

I submitted my tax return! So, that’s out of the way now. And I’m determined to get properly back into the monthly admin day. Yes, I know I’ve said that before, but this time I really will!

Progress Report: 13/07/2015 – 19/07/2015

Welcome to week twenty-nine.

Nano Project

The Nano Project is finished! And part published (paperbacks not up yet). I have decided to put these two books into Kindle Unlimited to see how things go, so the ebooks are exclusive to Amazon for at least three months. Don’t know what difference that will make, possibly none, but I think it’s worth trying it out on a limited basis.

Fantasy Book 1

I did nothing on this book this week.

Fantasy Book 2

I did nothing on this book this week. However, this will now be my main writing project for the coming week.

Other Projects

I did do a little work on the two short stories, but not a lot. Instead, I decided to get my tax paperwork done. I’ve nearly finished, but not quite. So, I’ll do all the ticks and crosses on Monday, and do the actual online return on some other day this week.

Welcome to week twenty-eight.

Wimbledon over already? Seriously? It’ll be autumn before we know it at this rate!

Nano Project Book Two

And the read out louds are finished. Hurrah! Okay, so I have two eBooks almost ready to go and I also have two paperbacks without covers yet. So, this week, first priority is the paperback covers and then getting the paperbacks approved on CreateSpace. I’ll also have to upload the final eBook versions. And then, it’ll be done. As I only have four days this week (because of a family celebration weekend coming up), I don’t expect to get much more done.

Fantasy Book 1

I did nothing on this book this week.

Fantasy Book 2

I did nothing on this book this week.

Other Projects

If I have the time this coming week, I’ll try to work on those two short stories I did the first draft of last week. Both were for specific submission calls, so they do have a purpose.

Progress Report: 29/06/2015 – 05/07/2015

Welcome to week twenty-seven.

And we’re in July. Summer. Really heavy showers and horrendous thunderstorms, but luckily, not here.

Nano Project Book Two

A full read-through of Book Two was completed, but I didn’t continue on to do the read out loud. That’s the task for next week.

Fantasy Book 1

I did nothing on this book this week.

Fantasy Book 2

I did nothing on this book this week.

Other Projects

On the two days when I wasn’t working on the Nano books, I wrote first drafts of two more short stories. I know I hadn’t planned to do this, but I’ve got the short story bug again after last week, and these two ideas were festering in my brain (Does that sound gross?) and needed to be let out to breathe.

I also formatted three paperbacks (for R&B). One is now live, the other two had issues with the covers, which was my own stupid mistake. I have some more paperbacks I need to do (including the Nano books when I’m done revising), but I think I’ll do one at a time to try to avoid any more silly errors.
