Progress Report: 20/07/2015 – 26/07/2015

Welcome to week thirty.

Fantasy Book 1

I did nothing on this book this week.

Fantasy Book 2

I’m back to working on this book now. Hurrah! I spent the first couple of days going through the story from the beginning and editing a little as I went along. I needed to remind myself of what had happened so far. That went fine. However, when it came to writing new stuff, I got a bit of a block. I knew where the story was going, but not how to get there. So, after struggling for a couple of hours, I gave it a rest and went back to it later, but not to write, just to plan out what would happen next. The following day I was able to write easily and it has been so since. I think the story was about 24K when I started and is now about 35K in total. I’ll continue to work on this story this week. If I can add another 10-15K, I’ll be pleased.

I think this is going to end up being a standalone book, rather than any kind of series, but I’m not going to decide that for certain until I get to the end of the story. I’m going to write it assuming it’s one story.

Other Projects

I wrote another very short story this week for a themed submission call, which has to be in by the end of this week. It’s pretty much done, but I’ll give it another couple of looks through before I submit it.

I submitted my tax return! So, that’s out of the way now. And I’m determined to get properly back into the monthly admin day. Yes, I know I’ve said that before, but this time I really will!
