Welcome to week twenty-six.

Norse Novels

Well, I completed the paper edit of Book Two, but didn’t get any further. This was partly because of the trauma of the referendum result and partly because I decided I needed to do some tidying up of my office over the weekend. So, this week I need to read through the changes I’ve made, as I haven’t done that yet and if I complete that, which I should, I’ll start on Book Three again.

Other Projects

I haven’t done anything further on these. I’m still trawling for cover images, but haven’t decided on any specific idea for Book Three yet.

Welcome to week twenty-five.

Norse Novels

So, the read out loud of Book One was finished and I’ve started on the paper edit of Book Two. I’ve not got all that far with that, as I had one day without any work on Friday, but I will be continuing with that this week. I now have cover pictures sorted for Books One and Two. Still struggling for Book Three. Will continue to search for images this week. If I find them, I’ll buy the ones for Book One and get started on the cover.

Flash-Fiction Collection

I have done a fair amount of work on this during the week, but only after I’ve finished my main work for the day. I will continue with that this week. I think I’ve decided to have a cut-off date for stories for the end of June. That should make it a reasonable length for this sort of collection.

Welcome to week twenty-four.

Norse Novels

This week I finished the rough draft of Book Three. It is quite short as I expected, but I know there are a lot of words to add, so I’m not worried about that. I have also started looking for cover images for the books. I’ve found images for Book One, which I’m very happy with. I’m struggling with images for Book Two. I won’t buy any of them until I have a mock-up of Book Two. So that will be an evening perusing task until it’s done. Next week I’ll start with the read out loud of Book One, which I’ll do with the paperback version open as well as the eBook. When that’s finished, which I expect to take two to three days, I’ll start on the paper edit of Book Two. There will be some disruption to my working week on Friday, as I have an appointment to go to which is expected to take half the day, and afterwards I probably won’t be up for working. Apart from that, it should be a normal week.

Other Projects

I’ve started working on putting together an anthology of my Instagram stories, as there was some interest in this. I think I’m going to make the cut-off date for new stories at the end of June and then get it ready for publication in September. This will be a side project, and as I’m intending to do some quite fiddly formatting with it, it will take some time. Writing the flash fiction on Instagram has been a lot of fun, so I hope it’s worth the effort putting it together like this. Who knows, there may be more than one of these eventually.

Welcome to week twenty-three.

Norse Novels

This week has been a little up and down in terms of production. Monday was out completely because of the Bank Holiday and Thursday was unproductive because I had to take my car into the garage. So, on the other days, I managed my 3K, but my total isn’t as high as I might’ve liked. This coming week I’ll continue to write Book Three. I expect I might come to the end by the end of this week. I know this novel is more sketchy than the other two on first draft. There is a lot to add in and fill out, so I expect the rough draft total to be lower than the other two. I might be wrong, we’ll see, but that’s how I expect it to pan out.
