21/08/2017 – 27/08/2017

Hi, everyone.

This past week, I completed the Hunter Vampire Compilation, but I just need to look it over again on Tuesday (Monday is a Bank Holiday), before I upload the files. I also did the read out-loud of HV4. The other thing I’m doing, unexpectedly because things started going screwy, is redesigning my website. If you visit it in the next couple of days, things might not quite work as they’re supposed to. Sorry. 😦

In the coming week, I’ll continue with the website, do the uploading above and, hopefully, another edit of HV4. I intend to do a title reveal on Tuesday, so I’ll be giving it its proper name from then on.

I didn’t finish any books this week.

See you all next Monday.

15/08/2017 – 20/08/2017

Hi, everyone.

This past week I, as planned, typed up the edits for HV4 and prepared Ruled by Choices for publication. I’ve started uploading it, but haven’t quite finished yet. I also started putting together a couple of paperbacks. One, a compilation of Hunter Vampire stories, the other, a secret project for the moment.

During the coming week? Well, Monday is the launch for The Blood House, Part 3 of the Hunter Vampire Chronicles, so that’ll take up a bit of time on the day. Apart from that? I want to finish the Hunter Vampire compilation, and to create the eBook version, as well. The paperback won’t take too long. I only, basically, have to top and tail the paperback. All the story text is in and formatted. The eBook version won’t take long, either, as the text is all there, it just needs copying into a separate document. Once that’s done, I’ll be sitting on it for a while before launching it. The other paperback will be an ongoing thing for a while, but I hope to progress that a little each day. Also, I’d like to do a read out-loud of HV4. That is 1-2 days of work, so not too onerous.

This past week I have finished the following books:

  • Poison by Chris Wooding (audio)
  • A Shining in the Shadows by Beverley Lee

Hope to see you all again next week.

07/08/2017 – 13/08/2017

Hi, everyone.

I didn’t really have a plan for this past week, but I ended up doing a few things. First, I started to sort out Ruled by Choices. There’s still a little left to do. I also did a read-through of Hunter Vampire 4 and another paper edit.

This coming week I’ll be typing up that paper edit of HV4 and finishing off Ruled by Choices. I also want to put together a number of other boxsets. So, I think a lot of the time I won’t actually be writing. Sometimes, weeks are like that.

This week I finished reading one book:

  • City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

See you next week.

31/07/2017 – 06/08/2017

Hi, everyone.

This past week I managed the paper edit and transcription of the fourth Hunter Vampire story. I also did a final read out loud of The Blood House. I don’t think I’ll do another before release date, but you never know.

I don’t really have a plan for the coming week. I’ll probably sort out the final Ruled by Choices and possibly start writing Hunter Vampire five, as I now have an idea for that, but I might do something else instead. We’ll see.

This past week I have finished the following books (audio seems to be my favourite at the moment):

  • A Dark Inheritance by Chris D’Lacey (audio)
  • The Cat that Walked by Himself by Rudyard Kipling (audio)
  • Where my Heart Used to Beat by Sebastian Faulks (audio)

See you all next week.

24/07/2017 – 30/07/2017

Hi, everyone.

This past week I did exactly as I’d planned. I wrote a rough draft of Hunter Vampire Chronicles 4, then went through it again and added to get it to first draft level. It’s now at novella length, which is what I wanted. This coming week, I’ll be doing a paper edit of it, and hopefully typing that up. If I finish, I’ll be thinking about the next book in the series.

This week I finished reading the following books:

  • The Muse by Jessie Burton
  • The Sin Eater by Deborah J Miller (audio)
  • Talulla Rising by Glen Duncan (audio)

See you all next week.

17/07/2017 – 23/07/2017

Hi, everyone.

So, I did everything I said I was going to do in my post from last week. 🙂

Okay, I did put The Blood House up for pre-order. You can buy it now, if you so wish (you do, don’t you?). Release date is 21 August 2017. I also pretty much got The Midgard Born two-book boxset done. I’m not sure when I’m going to put this up yet, but it’s there and ready to go. I started the fourth story in The Hunter Vampire Chronices. I think I know where it’s going now – that took a couple of days to sort out. I’ve also started on the secret project, but only have one chapter done and that will wait now until HV4 is drafted.

Unexpectedly, I received my paperback draft of Ruled by Choices through the post, which was a month earlier than promised. I’m definitely not going to do anything with it this coming week, but at least it’s there.

Other things for the coming week? Well, just to get a first draft of HV4, I think. That should be enough time to get all the way through the story, if I work hard at it. Anything else will be a bonus.

I haven’t read a lot this week, so no books finished.

See you all next week.

10/07/2017 – 16/07/2017

Hi, everyone.

First things first. I’m posting this early today because I wanted you to know about a flash sale I’m holding on one of my books. Today only (17 July 2017), The Rag & Bones Novel Collection (that’s the entire series) is on sale for Kindle. Go and grab your copy now.

Flash Birthday Sale details

In other news, this past week, I finalised and ordered the proof of Ruled by Choices. I also did a read-through and two read out-louds of The Blood House. I’m nearly ready to put this up for pre-order, which will probably happen on Tuesday of the coming week.

Other things to do this coming week. Well, I want to get a boxset of the first two books of The Midgard Born Series made up, and I need to start on the fourth story in The Hunter Vampire Chronicles. The latter might be difficult, because I haven’t decided what the story is yet. 😦 I also have another project I’m cogitating upon and have had a little play with the beginning of. That one will remain project lips sealed for the moment.

This week I have completed five books:

  • Knights of the Borrowed Dark by Dave Rudden (audio)
  • Writing for Children by Martha Robinson
  • Vampirates by Justin Somper (audio)
  • Mandalas by Laura J Watts
  • The Nowhere Emporium by Ross MacKenzie (audio)

Until next week.
