Okay, so life took over, but I’m back to writing proper now, and I intend to start up my weekly posts again as from next Monday.
I’ve already updated the books for this year under the 2017 page. As you’ll see, I haven’t been doing much reading, either. Big sigh.
What have I managed to do writing wise? Well, I released Book Three in The Midgard Born Series, The Threshold of Truth. That was ready at the end of last year, so no work was needed. I’ve also written a short story for the new Hunter Vampire series, which is released next Monday. The second one in this series is also drafted, but is a little bit on hold now while I get back to Book Four in The Midgard Born Series. This is in second draft stage (the first draft was done at the end of last year), and is a bit of a struggle at the moment after so much time off, but this morning, I actually felt as if I was getting somewhere, which is good. That’s about it.
Anyway, if you’re still around, hope to see you next week.
This week has not gone as planned, as life behind the scenes has taken over big time. I don’t know how much I’ll be around over the next few weeks, but I will try to do a post each week.
I started the edit of Book Four, but didn’t get too far. I hope to do some on it this week, but I’m not committing to anything specific. I also received the proof copy of Book Three, about three weeks earlier than expected. I haven’t looked at it yet, but I hope to do that this week.
Not much time has been spent on reading this week. A total of 3 hours and 53 minutes. I hope to do a little more this coming week, but once again, no specific commitment.

Spectacles by Sue Perkins
Welcome to the final report for 2016.
I know I haven’t done one for two weeks, but besides the holidays, there has been a lot going on that has taken me away from my writing, and might do so for several weeks more. It has also affected how much I’ve been reading, so I’ve just lumped the total into one to avoid lots of blank lines. I think I might continue to just do a total from now on, as the detail is fairly irrelevant.
Rag & Bones, Hunter Vampire Series
So, during Christmas and New Year, I wrote the first of a series of short stories I’m going to publish in the Rag & Bones world. It’s only in draft form, and will now have to wait until I’ve done another edit on the fourth book in The Midgard Born Series, but I’m pleased with the progress.
Midgard Born Series
Nothing was done on this over the holidays, but I will be starting on the edit of Book 4 on Monday, even though it’s a Bank Holiday here.

Welcome to week fifty-one.
I’m still working on Book Four. I didn’t get the draft finished, and I’ll still be working on it in the coming week. I really hope I get through it by end Thursday, because Friday is baking day!

Welcome to week fifty.
Did I really not do a post last week? How bizarre.
I’m still working on the rewrite of Book Four – I’m up to about 24K now, but I didn’t work over the weekend, so I intend to carry on this coming week. Hopefully, I’ll have a rough draft before the end of the week. I’m hoping to have it done by Christmas, so I’d still have a few days left, but with Christmas prep, I’d rather have the draft finished so I can just potter around with it in the week up to the big day.

Welcome to week forty-eight.
The last book in the series, that I stared during NaNo, I decided needed to be started again. I really didn’t like what I’d written so far, but I’d only done about 16K on this book, so it wasn’t too far in. I’ve already written about 9K of the new version and I like it so much better. It was definitely a good idea to start again. I will do more this week, but I won’t be working on it every day. I need to get the cover sorted for book three and have that up for pre-order when book two goes live, on Friday.
I did start editing the other NaNo novel, but decided to abandon that until I had written the above.
I have also been writing some Christmas stories, which I’ll be sending out to people who have supported me on Instagram. But, shush, don’t tell them. 🙂

No Time Like the Past by Jodi Taylor
Welcome to week forty-seven.
Well, I got to the 50K, and promptly stopped writing. I’ve got a rough draft of one book, but the other one I’m really not happy with. I might have to start again. So, I’m not going to continue adding to the NaNo word count. I’m just going to do it as and when. I think I’m going to start adding to/revising the rough draft I have first, and let the other one settle.
The second flash fiction book is now live on Amazon.
