I received some post today that I wasn’t expecting.
It’s my copy of The British Fantasy Society Journal containing my third place story from last year’s flash fiction competition, held in conjunction with National Flash Fiction Day.
I have to say, I wasn’t expecting it to be something quite so chunky. Plenty of reading to do!
Well, for those who don’t know, today is National (International) Flash Fiction Day (NFFD) and there have been lots of events and competitions going on over here in the UK for the last few weeks.
One of those competitions was this one, run in conjunction with the British Fantasy Society Journal. As you can see, it has just been announced that I came third with my story Saving the Planet, which will now be published in the summer edition of the journal. If you scroll down, you’ll be able to see the comments from the judge, which will give you an insight into what my story was about.
If you want to find out more about NFFD in the UK, you can visit their website here and if you’re interested in reading some flash fiction stories, Flash Flood Journal is publishing stories throughout the day today.
Happy flash fictioneering!
